Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam
It is with a very heavy heart that we inform you that our mosque has been vandalised overnight (30-31st August 2019) in the early hours of the morning.
By the grace of Allah swt the damage is limited and the main target appears to have been the CCTV room.
The hard drives for the CCTV’s are missing. The Imam’s office has all the paperwork on the floor. The kitchen has not suffered any damage but looks like it has been searched through. The boiler room was broken into; but nothing is missing. The carpet remains to be intact.
Please note the mosque is open as usual and suitable for all the normal prayers inshaAllah.
East Sussex police has been informed and are looking into the matter. Furthermore, we are reviewing the security of the building and will keep you informed.
In the meantime we urge everyone to please be vigilant and careful when coming to and from our mosque.
May Allah protect the House of Allah and our community.
