Eid Ul-Fitr 2021 Prayer Booking

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

Eastbourne Mosque invites you to join us for Eid Ul-Fitr prayers.

Inshallah, Eid Ul-Fitr will be on either 12th or 13th of May 2021. There will be three Eid salahs at: 08:00, 09:00 and 10:00. The ladies section will also be open allowing our sisters to attend Eid salah at those three times. However, no young children (below the age of 10) are allowed for the time being.

You are kindly asked to book online in advance before arriving using the form below. Alternatively you can click on the following links for the Brothers booking form or the Sisters booking form. Please book onto ONE of those salahs.

The usual COVID secure practice will be applied and people will be reminded to adhere to the following conditions for Eid Salah arrangements:

  • Wudu: Please perform wudu at home – The wudu area and toilets will be closed in the masjid
  • Sanitise and wash your hands before entering the mosque
  • Wear a face mask at ALL TIMES covering both your nose and mouth in FULL unless exempt.
  • Everyone must bring their own Musallah (prayer mat) and shoe bags.
  • Everyone must maintain social distance and not exchange handshakes at any time.
  • There must be no congregating inside or outside of the Mosque anytime.
  • Try to share transportation to avoid congestion around the Mosque.
  • If you are driving to the Mosque kindly park your car facing towards the fence to avoid disturbance to our neighbours with the lights.
  • One way system will be in operation so please follow the signs
  • Please kindly help yourself and others by following our advice.
  • Zakat ul Fitr: Zakat ul fitr MUST be paid before Eid salahs. Boxes are available at the door for zakat ul fitr which is £5 per person. You can pay your zakat now to avoid congestion on the day. You can also do so online or directly to our bank account using the details on our donations page.

Ramadan 2021 & COVID-19 Changes

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to have our Mosque open for Ramadan this year. We still have to adhere to the government guidelines of keeping ourselves and others safe. There are a few points we would like to remind the community of.

  • Everyone must wear a face mask unless they are exempt.
  • Please kindly help yourself and others by following our advice.

There will be Taraweeh this Ramadan the duration will be 1 hour (20 rakahs). You may leave at any time but we ask you to do so without disturbing people in worship and our neighbours when departing.

Unfortunately due to the current pandemic, there will be no Iftar shared. Nor will there be any Itikaf.

Everyone (brothers & sisters) will need to register online to attend Taraweeh as you all have been doing for Friday Jummah.

We are aware that not everyone will be able to attend the Mosque. So we are planning for our community for those who can not attend Jummah and Taraweeh live streaming via Zoom. There will be also two Quran recitation sessions every day via Zoom. For sisters at 5 pm and Brothers at 6:30 pm. Zoom details to be confirmed.

We encourage you all to donate towards the Mosque as it is the month of Charity. May Allah accept our Fast, Quran recitation, Charity, Taqwa, Duaa and repentance.

EICC thanks the community for your continued cooperation, support and understanding.

May Allah swt keep us all safe and well.

Jazakhallah khair
