COVID-19 Update: Re-Opening of our mosque

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

The EICC SG group met to discuss the possibility of opening the mosque.

All of us want the mosque open but we face organisation problems and have become more aware of the risk and difficulties of controlling the situation. It must also be said that some people don’t want the mosque open too soon.

It appears that we should wait a bit longer rather than rushing with the re-opening

So, although we would want our mosque to be open, reluctantly the mosque will stay closed as the risks are very high and we have been unable to appoint a COVID-19 officer nor recruit enough volunteers to manage the social distancing.

The decision at the moment is the mosque will stay closed until further notice and staff will continue to be on furlough.

Don’t forget, you can still continue to support our Mosque through donating.

May Allah guide us on the right path during these difficult times.

Jazak Allahu khayran

Eid Ul-Fitr 2020

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

We are pleased to announce that we shall be celebrate Eid Ul-Fitr on Sunday 24th May 2020 InshaAllah.

In view of the ongoing Coronavirus situation, our mosque remains to be closed. There will be NO Eid prayers within our mosque but we urge you all to celebrate with your families at home safely, following the latest government advice.

We will be distributing tomorrow the details of a Zoom call where we can all come together as a community to do takbeer and to listen to our Imam’s Eid khutbah.

May Allah swt accept all our good deeds and forgive our shortcomings during the Holy Month.

Please remember to pay Zakatul-Fitr (£5/person) which should be given before prayer. You can do so online or directly to our bank account using the details on our donations page.
