New Friday / Jummah Prayer Arrangements

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

In view of the recent additional pressures on space within Eastbourne Mosque on Fridays and with upcoming schools, colleges and University winter holidays coming up EICC anticipates further pressures on the space available within our Mosque.

Taking into account the weather and the increased numbers attending for Jummah, EICC has decided to hold an extra salah every Friday starting 16th December 2022.

The khutbah of the additional/first salah will start at 12:10pm and salah will be at 12:20pm.

Please also note the second salah which is led by Imam Abdur Rahim remains unchanged. The khutbah of the second salah will remain at its normal time of 1:15pm.

EICC will constantly monitor the situation and make adjustments if necessary and keep the community updated.

Jazakum Allah Khair

Basic Life Support Training – BIMA Lifesavers course

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters in Islam,

“And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind

(5:32) The Holy Qura’an

We are pleased to announce that for the first time, the BIMA LIVESAVERS course will be held in Eastbourne mosque on Saturday 24 September after Zohur prayer (13:15) inshallah.

This is a community event organised in conjunction with British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA).

LIVESAVERS is the flagship project of BIMA which is being held in mosques all over the country on the same date and time. Each year thousands of members of the community are taught Basic Life Support (BLS) by Livesavers volunteers.

This event is open to both male and female attendees so both both brothers and sisters will be catered for. The event will be delivered and taught by both male and female doctors from Eastbourne DGH.

We expect the event to last around 3 hours in total.

Preliminary outline of the event:
1-Introductory presentation/video demonstration
2- Practical session on Basic Life Support (small groups under supervision)
3- Questions
4- Feedback from the participants

We encourage all members of our community to come and learn these essential skills.

Those of you who have attended such courses before please still come and refresh your skills

We hope to make it a yearly event for our community
